Deluxe Little Dog In-Ground Fence
Product Description:
This deluxe in-ground pet fencing system is made for the little love of your life. When you want to keep your petite dog safe in your yard and she wants her freedom away from a leash to explore, the Deluxe Little Dog In-Ground Fence is the perfect solution. Unlike a traditional fence, walking your dog on a leash, or having them on a tie-out, this electronic underground fence leaves your yard open to the surrounding scenery while giving your pet the independence she deserves.
Install your system:
The system is an easy weekend project for the average do-it-yourselfer. The fence transmitter sends a radio signal through a boundary wire that you will plant in the ground around your yard. The wire acts as an antenna, carrying the signal to the receiver collar that your pet wears. The receiver collar issues a tone when your pet gets close to the boundary. If your pet goes further, the collar issues a low-grade electronic pulse that, on the lowest level, feels like a mild tickle to your pet. This deters your pet from leaving the yard. The boundary flags act a visual guide to help your pet stay in their area.
To set up your system, first consider the area of your yard you want to make safe for your pet enjoy. It may help to stretch it out on paper. The 20 ga. boundary wire will outline this area and connect back to the transmitter creating the safe zone for your pet. Lay the boundary wire out how you would like. You will mount the transmitter to a dry, stationary surface. Connect the wire to the transmitter and test the wire using the receiver collar. Once you have the wire laid out as you would like it, you’ll bury the wire about 1 to 3 inches below the surface. An edging tool or flat head shovel makes this step go much faster. Next, Then, you’ll connect your wire to the transmitter and set up boundary flags as a visual reminder for your pet while you are acclimating them to the system. You can twist the wire to cancel the radio signal leading to and from the transmitter or to create additional off-limit areas for your pet such as a garden, pool or pond. Wire and flags are included to secure up to 1/3 of an acre but additional wire and flags can be purchased to expand your system up to 25 acres.
The Transmitter:
The small, sleek, translucent covered transmitter complements any décor and will fit neatly anywhere in your home. You’ll also be worry-free whenever storms hit with the included surge protection for the transmitter.
The Collar:
The waterproof receiver collar is small and comfortable for little dogs. Your pet wears the collar when you want to keep them in your yard. The collar makes an audible tone to let your dog know her boundaries. Most dogs only need the tone to keep them within the boundaries, but for those that continue, a harmless static correction reminds them to stay in the area you’ve established. With 4 levels of static correction and tone-only mode, you’ll be able to choose exactly the level that is right for your pet and her temperament. The collar also features a low-battery indicator light so you’ll know when it’s time to insert a new battery and keep your pet endlessly enjoying the yard.
The adjustable collar is made of reflective material to help you see your dog if they are in the yard at night. The collar unit is made with little dogs in mind and is one of the smallest collars on the market ensuring nothing will get in the way of your dog’s fun.
Training your pet:
Most pets adapt to their system quickly and happily in a few short training sessions. Plan to complete three training sessions per day, each lasting 10 to 15 minutes until your pet is completely comfortable with the system. Step-by-step training instructions are included. Depending on your pet, it may take up to two weeks for your pet to become fully acclimated to the system.
