The Pawz Away pet training mats can easily solve any of these problems.

The clear mat, which comes in two sizes to meet all of your pet proofing needs (12”x60” or 24”x48”), sends a startling static pulse when your pet steps on the mat. Your pet will quickly remove his paws back to more steady ground. After a couple experiences with the mat, he will learn to avoid the area all together.

Programming:

When the mat is used for the first time, it can be programmed for the tone and stimulation mode. You can change the mode by pressing the pushbutton. The mode will advance each time following this order: tone and stimulation -> stimulation only -> tone only. The green LEDs in the mat will light up to indicate the new mode. The controls are programmed to remember the last mode used after the mat is turned off/on and when the battery is changed. Therefore, once you find the level that works for your pet, you may never have to change the mode again. After a few days of training with tone and stimulation, tone only can be used as the pet will learn the stimulation is delivered after the tone.
